The Seaway Kiwanis Log Cabin is a replacement for the original log cabin. The original cabin had become decayed and rotten to the point where it was unsafe for use. The new cabin hemlock log materials were purchased from the Ecolog Company in Haliburton, Ontario. The cost for this new cabin was $85,000. The Norman & Judith Alix Foundation provided $35,000. toward the costs and the Seaway Kiwanis Club provided $50,000.
