In and around 2007 Neighbouring kids set up their own little bike course adjacent to Tarzan land. The city fearing possible liability problems due to potential injury, shut it down. It was reported in the papers that the kids had lost their riding trails, and so and we decided it would be a good project for Kiwanis to take on in consultation with the kids. Members of Kiwanis proposed to city that we construct a proper BMX track. There was a lot of research into other BMX tracks , and an environmental study that took a year to carry out prior to beginning the project. In 2010 construction was completed on our present day BMX track. It continues to be a very popular venue for BMXers.
